    Race Organisation

Hi - not sure if this is the right place to post this thread. The company I work for is thinking of setting up an organised activity day which would incorporate a run (probably 5k) or a cycle (or both?). Can anyone give any guidance or point me in the right direction as to what I need to consider in organising such an event? Are there any organisations I should contact? Thanks SLoW

Pair of trainers and a bike!

No but seriously - when where roughly, how many, what's their level of ability.

You can probably do something on the cheap yourself, but you need to make sure you've covered all the bases - the dreaded risk assessment.

Is the bike ride to be competitive - a race? Will it be on the public highway? Will it be a massed start event or a time trial? I'm not certain what the current rulings are, but massed starts were the turf of the British Cycling Federation, time trials were covered by the Road Time Trials Council and both would have needed police permits for the public highway.

Also, consider the insurance for it!! Goes with the territory of risk assesments.
    www.vlaevents.co.uk Fancy something different?
