You have definitely got my interest now Iain I think I will pencil this in for my 2009 plans.

That was only because the clag was so thick though, nice race though especially the second half (which may be 1st half next year).

Last year on the start line I can only recall one runner wearing only a vest, 90% of runners had their cags on and ran in them, be prepared.

Novice, there's no cut outs because the carniverous sheep take care of any stragglers! They're especially fond of a bit of english!

The course is quite easy but can be rendered a trial by the weather, just like any mountain event. The section around Craig Pwllfa is trickiest, even in good weather, since this is featureless peat hags with no obvious aiming points. It will be easier if we go anticlock this year since we get there early in the race.
Be warned, there is quite a lot of flat running along ridges or valley floors. For some this can be a bit monotonous.

Today have walked the section from Neuadd reservoir, onto the ridge, Corn Du, Pen y Fan, Cribyn, Roman Road, Fan-y-Big (titter yee not at the back, as the late Francis H would have said!) and back down - blowing an absolute gale, very hard to stay on feet at times...

In other words, just like last August's race, but without the rain (which was just starting as we made it back to the car - impecable timing)

The sheep were too busy sheltering to pay us any attention!
