    Winter Cairngorm 4000s snaps

Richie hasn't put this up, so thought I do it for him. It took them approx 8 hours.

Very nice pics - thanks for posting. Surprised to see no sign of crampons, some soft-looking snow, and just the occasional sign of delicate descending. In the Monadhliath a week ago, at <800m, such snow patches as there were, were frozen solid and very slippery.

Not often done in Winter I'd guess?

    Re: Winter Cairngorm 4000s sna

Blimey. I thought we'd done well just last week to do Cairn Toul, Angel's Peak, and Braeriach, starting from Whitewell - 22 miles in 10 1/2 hours - this puts our effort into perspective! Though we were walking not running, and the plateau was much icier - crampons required - and (insert list of excuses here).
