New for 2009, a series of trail races to replace the long-established 4 Mile Road Race Series, using the tracks and trails of Astley Park
2009 entry fees: £3 (£10 for 4 races)/£5 (£18 for 4 races) (pay "Chorley Harriers"). Min age 15


The old 4 mile road race is now a 4.4 mile trail race.

Anyone on here know the reason for this? They have quite a long history now, and a great following.

I heard the organiser felt that under new UKA safety guidelines, the road race couldn't continue without a road closure.

Only 2nd hand info though.

Thats a bugger. Chorley 4 was always well supported and despite 3 times up that drag was a quick course. The demise of local road races is surely not far away
