Edale recce - Sat 31st Jan

I don't want to disrupt any plans for Emmilou's 1st March recce (when I'm on holiday) but is anyone interested in an earlier recce, weather permitting? The idea of starting at Mam Nick sounds a good one.

Bad choice of days really MM

Most of the local runners will be resting for either the Kinder Trial or the Mickledon Straddle on Sunday. Both these races are very popular.

Yes I thought about the Straddle myself but I am not race fit so thought a steady jog round the skyline might make a good day. One or two from my club - Idle AC - are doing it. You'll have probably heard the joke about the Idle Working Men's Club just down the road from us!

How do you rate the Straddle?

I love it but it is probably the nearest big race to my house and a favorite traing run, although it has a poor start on a track it does allow you to warm up before the first big climb which goes on for miles inti the wind usually. stepp descent and fast track round to next long climb, beautiful ascent until you reach the top. then it's one of those descents that go on forever with a sting in the tail
