    Watered down from last year. Very poor.
    It's a shame that the organising commitee don't listen to the ones who compete and complete the series.
    I aint running for Rossy now so it won't matter

    excellent choice of races

    should encourage more people to have a go and therefore have more who complete the series

    well done committee

    Interesting how race selection can polarise opinions.

    I really enjoyed the long races last year. But when we looked at actual attendance from the 5 clubs, the following patterns emerged:
    • Short/medium local races were well attended (top 3 being Knowl Hill 65, Stoodley Pike 61 and Eddies Revenge 59);
    • Races a bit further away were less well attended (e.g. Lads Leap Crowden 39 and Crowden Horseshoe 34);
    • Long races had by far the poorest attendance (Holme Moss 21 and Good Shepherd 24);
    • We had a pre-conceived idea that mid-week races would be unpopular because they might be difficult to get to after work. We were wrong - 3 of the top 4 best attended races actually mid-week.
    The number of runners completing enough races last year was very low. So this year we have taken on board the learning to try and get some proper competition going, i.e. short/medium local races which the majority enjoy and turn out for.

    Anyone who, like me, want to do long races can still do them of course, they just don't count towards this particular GP.

    Time will tell whether this approach works. If not we have lost nothing can add in some lovely long ones again next year.

    Could be. Haven't resigned from rossy and can't be doing with all this bullshit ban business so may end up in trouble.
    Nothing new there then.
    You should re name fell grand prix, because it may be putting people off
    I don't like the fact that i completed the series 2 years running and you don't listen to what the competitors want. you pamper people who will never complete the series.
    Sorry SB i disagree with you and your soft lads approach.
    It's running on the fells, is it supposed to be easy.
    I'm sure if it was you'd have more road fairies doing it.

    Rant over

    Stan correct me if i'm wrong but i thought the whole idea of the series was to try and encourage novice runners to take part in races over the local hills.
