Re: How many sessions a week?

Well thanks for that. I think that the main problem for me is that I once was a fit cyclist training 6 x a week, and now running 10 years later on, life is different. Because I have a very driven mentality towards training I found it difficult that a job and friends/family commitments mean life is different. This leads to a lot of dissatisfaction so it's interesting to hear of other people in the same boat. I do realise that I'm never going to set the world alight but feel if it's worth doing, it's worth doing as well as you personally can. It's refreshing to hear that others find life 'just gets in the way' but despite this still have a good time. Thanks for all your replies. Guess I just have to get my head round it! At least I'm still competing at 45 and enjoying the wonders of nature with a great group of people, even if they do wear an interesting collection of pertex shorts!!

Just find a way of making training part of your everyday life and enjoy it, nothing will get in your way then
