    Taren Hendre

Fantastic race today, and great course.
The high quality field that landed at Abergynolwyn today was a welcome sight. Internationalls galore
We had our 2010 British champion Tim Davies, Lloyd Taggart, Richard Roberts, Olympian and Commonwealth athlete Andres Jones and his equally good brother Felipe Jones, Ifan Richards N.wales fell champion(me)., Mercia big guns Paul Jones and Roland Stafford and many more.
Perfect conditions for the race and 97 entries
It was an honour to be on the same start line with these names, let alone race them :w00t:
The climb was as hard as ever with the 2000ft in the first 2 mile and the pace set from the off stated it was going to be a painfull 6.2 mile. The descent flowed really fast and the singletrack was brilliant down the zig zags.
Awsome race and field, Well done to all that raced.

Shortened route yesterday.. got to say I'm amazed at that for Tarren.. its a trail race with a only a mile up high.. most of it is in the forest.

Why hold a race in February on a 2000ft in Snowdonia unless its OK in bad weather, which it is...

The only race I've ever really understood shortening was Yr Aran back in 2009 or so, when it was solid snow and ice bound summit.. the rest is just bad weather as in typical british weather..

    'Land of the shortened race'...

It can be a cold hill to sit on for the marshals, or maybe the decision was influenced by last year's impressive navigation errors?
