Start saving up to pay for losing the bet?

No idea if he's going to be up to it or not.
Suggest he goes for a walk for 8 hours and see how far he gets.

I also think it's a bet he'll lose. Even if his fitness was not a problem his feet won't stand up to that sort of hammering for 10 days.

15 hours a day unless he race-walks. Suggest trying a few 15 hour days. And lots of Compeed.

Regardless of the physical side of things i doubt whether he will have te mental aptitude to push himself out of his comfort zone for at least 9 days.

    Re: 10 day challenge

Before i started running i trained up to and then completed the Rossendale Day Way in day challenge (50 miles)

I had to lose weight and trained of course, but it still took me 17 hours to get round. Ok it was cross country and involved a few hills, but i couldnt imagine put 10 of those days together!

I know i could do it now-flattish road miles would be boring though and has someone has already said,if his feet hold out,it will predominantly be a mental exercise as much as anything physical.

I would probably bet against him doing it-but then everyone bet against me 8 years ago.....and then i had to do it!
    Still too heavy to run

Captain Barclay - my hero. 1000 miles in 1000 hours for 1000 guineas. They even did it a couple of years ago before the London Marathon. I first thought it sounded straight forward until I realised it was a mile each hour day and night for 6 weeks. So you never get more than about 90 minutes sleep in one go.

Fitness can't be stored. It must be earned over and over, indefinitely.

I reckon 3 or even 2days of the challenge would be incredibly hard 10days would be an amazing achievement even for a very fit and determined walker
