Alright, I know its not a Fell Race, but I was just wondering has anyone out there done this before. Its in Perton, just outside Wolverhampton, and its a hard 5 mile X Country run followed by an even tougher assault course apparently.
Theres quite a few water obstacles and its gonna be bloody freezin' tomorrow so should be fun (not)

i done it 10 years ago , and its supposed to get harder every year . 5 miles cross country , then assault course , was freezing when i done it and i didnt enjoy it , too much queing . took me 2hrs 20mins . wear clothes you can throw away at the end .

Must admit I've never been tempted by events like this.

I've looked into this before. I think the pricing works so that the nearer you are to the start the more it costs. Something like 6 months before I think it was around £50 (2007), rising to £100ish Dec/Jan time.

It's also run at the end of June too.

These events are marketed for the people who do the manchester 10k, not for us tight-arse fell runners.

Its a great event to encourage people to excercise, and get them interested in the sport, but i think these events cash in and make alot of money out of gullable people.

I entered in October and it cost me £70, but luckily my work (Humberside Fire Brigade) paid half of it.
I'm sort of looking forward to it but I know its gonna be freezing. I've seen a video of it and looks mad.
