Well, its nice to know its not just me, I fell over one night last week on a run near an industrial estate in the pitch black. Turns out I had gone head first over a 2ft high concrete fence into the blackness. I dont remember landing but as it happens I landed on my hands and knees, I must have the reactions of a cat
However I havent run since - cos the bruising hasnt come out yet
I fell over 50meters into the Langdale. That knocked my confidence and must have fallen on another 5 occasions. I reckon I fall over at least once every 4 miles per fell race. Is that normal? Due to this I think my confidence on rocky and steep declines slows me down.

IS THAT THE 12" MIX
i trip alot, i have a nasty habit of enjoyiing my surrondings and not concentrating, then over i go.
go play on the m 6, now, how does that sound
My personal best is 7 falls in a 9 mile race
Hoping for a far more successful 2009
I used to fall a heckuva lot when I started the fell running lark. A good few times an hour out on training runs. Over time I've learnt to pick my feet up and how to heather bash effectively so the number of tumbles I have is small now. Think you just get better at it as time goes on and get more experienced on this sort of terrain....
