Thread: Falling Over?

    Unhappy Falling Over?

There I was minding my own business jogging down a minor descent with only a mile left back to the car and the next thing I know is I'm face down in the mud & rocks!! Minor surface damage to myself that will repair pretty quickly but unfortunately I also sustained a couple of rips in the arm of my kamleika - not a happy bunny!

This is the 3rd time I've fallen over in recent weeks and I realise that bad things often come in 3's but I still feel that this horizontal part of running is occuring all to often for me!

Just wondering how often other people fall over? I'm currently managing approx. 3/month!!!!

Tripped myself up at the relays on a rock yesturday, managed to get my hand out in time before i kissed the floor and literally bounced back up.

I am seriously clumbsy, my mum calls me 'Dangerous Brian" - apparently there was someone called brian who was dangerous?

I fell on xmas on the fells as well.

Why do you think it's called 'fell running'?
Tao begets one. One begets two. Two begets all things.

Oh yeah, fell at the Roaches and cut my knee.

Slipped on the ice at Auld Lang Syne and fell in the heather.

Did the same at my club handicap and cut my arse.

    I fell yesterday.

I'm looking forward to the infinate swelling going down and being able to move the right side of my body again....I can live with the MASSIVE bruises, grazes and cuts but the aching.....Owwwwwch!

(yep feeling very sorry for myself today AND it's another pair of tights ruined )

To say the least.....the leg is very swollen. The left leg has an impressive bruise too and the left arm is all cut and the right arm I can barely move as that and the hip took most impact although I didn't really notice it as much yesterday.

    I'll live!

    Re: Falling Over?

I seem to do quite a bit of faling while running. Usually I just seem to bounce, but its problematic when you go down more that once in a race / run. It's even more annoying when there is masses of nice soft mud and you go down twice on nasty hard gravel! I think there is something wrong with my fell shoes, or may be my feet, or it could be my legs....

    Re: Falling Over?

I fell at the top of North Barrule In last years Manx Mountain Marathon. The first hill in a 31mile fell run. I was up and running very quickly because i didn't want anyone to see me! It really hurt though.
