Another route has been added at http://gofar.org.uk. At 50km and 3000m it makes for an enjoyable day out although a sub 12 hour target would make it a little more challenging
It also mentions Alan Evans' top to top route from Wandale to Winder - 31 x 1500 footers completed by Hugh Symonds in sub 5 hours

There is also this route that I devised in the Howgills:

It is a very contorted route that I devised as a possible race - the intention being to create a mega-event on the Howgills and showcase how many big steep slopes are concentrated in a small area on these fells. The magic figure of 10,000ft of climbing was always a target (more than any other race of similar length) and the following route achieves it - albeit by means of some Tour of Pendle style contrivance!

PPS - Sorry the tabulation seems to have been lost in the pasting ;-)

It is a lot of climbing per mile (540ft) so I think it would get a Category A if it were run as a race

10,000 feet looks good value for 18.5 miles, I'll have a look at that in more detail. Have you done it yet. If so how long did it take?

No, not yet. I do intend to, as soon as I feel I'm fit enough to handle the climbing (and decending!!). Hopefully, this will co-incide with the onset of better weather...
