    Garburn Trail Race 31.05

Any forumites planning on doing this 24km race? Not done it before and have just entered it online.

I know its just over half full already.

I'll be there and at the other three races in the series. It's a new route for the Garburn Trail in 2008, but it still has the climb up the Garburn Pass though. Can't wait, really looking forward to it .

The cost of entry is discounted by £1 until 31 January 2008.

After this date be prepared to pay £21 or £23 if you
do not have a license to run from UK:Athletics.

It is also a little slip of paper with your registration number.

I wonder how long it will be before we are required to quote our registration number on all entry forms?

Paper? Mines plastic! Worth the membership alone...
    However, the Garburn entry fees....

    Year Entry Fee
    2005 £12
    2006 £13
    2007 £15
    2008 £18 / £21

For 21quid you could have alternatively joined the LDWA, entered their 23ml That's Lyth event (23ml with refreshments & meal after) and bought yourself a nice new badge for the event too. Garburn Trail is #8 in recent Runners World Top 50 races of 2007 mind

Don't get me wrong, they're good races, well organised etc, but I thought it looked like it had gone up a bit since I last entered one. A quick bit of research shows they have!

With four months to go, it's already two-thirds full. The organiser must be doing something right.

I have dug my "Competition Licence" out and it is indeed plastic.

Will this Competition Licence be required for fell races held under UK Athletic Rules?
