Sometimes use sealskins, if I take the dog out on a run with me.
On cold wet days, they help keep my feet warm, if we stop to play frisbee or meet up with other dogs and end up standing around.
They are not perfect but do the job.

neoprene socks in snow or freezing water, otherwise you know... just socks. Cheap and keep my feet warm. Sealskinz get holed too easily, more a walkers or cycling thing I think.

Is it meant to be this hard?
Carrier bags inside normal socks. Now thats a cycling thing!

My island is very nice
Does anybody use them, if so which ones are good ?I realise that due to the nature of where we run, cold and wet feet are par for the course, but on a run the other day my feet went numb as a numb thing due all the slush, snow and water.Am I just to accept this or are waterproof socks worth a try ?
They are not actually waterproof but act in the same way a wetsuit does - thin layer of water between your skin and the sock which provides some degree of warmth/prevents your feet feeling like block of ice. I have some old Porelle Drys which do make a difference when running through ice cold slush.
I use Sealskinz in winter and they're pretty good though a bit thick.
Man up I say !!!
I got a free pair of Sealskinz Thin Mid Length socks - tried them on...and there's something very strange about them, as though they are the wrong shape? Seem to have too much material on top of the foot where it becomes the ankle - there were wrinkles and lots of looseness at this point, is this correct?
And yes, they are the right size for my feet!
