    Round Rotherham 50

For anyone thinking of putting this in the diary for '09, I've just ahd an email saying the event has been moved from the previously run December to October...

    Dear fellow runner/walker,

I am writing because you have previously taken part in or entered the Round Rotherham event. You may be wanting to mark the date in your diary for the 2009 edition of the event. To give you three more hours of daylight, it is being moved to 17th October, still a Saturday. Otherwise the basic format will be similar to previous years.

We hope to see you in October,

    Henry Marston

I thought the miserable of it being in December was part of the attraction, and there's nothing much else on that time of year. Surely parts of the course look better in the dark when you can't see it clearly.

I haven't a clue what the first 45 minutes of the route actually look like!

The possiblity of it being drier underfoot might tempt me to revise my "never again" stance.

It was the Challenge of adverse conditions/mud/rain/sleet wind/darkness, that really made this event for me, i reckon in my case dry underfoot and daylight will make it just a dreary trail run.

So i will have to consider long and hard as to whether i will do it again, but put it back to December and i will be back like a shot

I don't expect it to be much better in October tbh but probably enough to tempt me.
