Grasmere has most prestige and one of the most renowned course records in the calendar. It would be good to see more top runners have a go at it and, dare I say it, it would be good to see a good middle distance track runner turn their hand to it in the way Mick Hawkins or Bashir Hussain could have done when they ran fell races ten or more years ago.

It is difficult to see Wasdale Show having the same aura as that. It is late in the year and the numbers of runners are quite low.
