    Re: Anniversary Waltz

Interesting points on the courses, and thanks for all comments - good or bad, the under 16/18 I agree would be better as two races, but its basically down to timing. We originally set off trying to put exciting routes together that were easy to manage (from a marshal point of view) and that we could complete before the first seniors were due.
Due to the change of fields (short notice and out of any of our control) we lost about 5 minutes of racing time getting the under 8's course flagged after the senior race had left, otherwise this would have worked. On distance, even as seniors, you will have short, tough fell races in championships, so you're right its nothing like prepartion for a half tour, but you'd be doing that in your training program, wouldn't you?
Good running for all of you as the championships progress.

Although i agree that the u16 and u18 would be better at separate times, i believe that the route itself is acceptable for both races. The thing that makes AW the best junior fell race in the country is the severity compared to other junior races. By changing the distance it could detract from the hardness of the race overall as the ascent would be less compared to the distance.

Ah, was it you who came running up to the CP on Robinson and then suddenly stopped and started taking a load of photos and lost loads of places?
