Biriani for endurance, pathia for speed.
Can I still vote when I've only done one?
And that wern't 08 come to think about it...........Whys Edale not in it????/
Times similar, but I didn't suffer very much with cramp on the Trog compared with the PPP.
I didn't do either, but Mrs Stagger did both.
The 3P was fully flagged and not bad under foot.
Trog was tough underfoot and needed Map skills.
Route choice in fell running has got to be a serious consideration in my opinion, if not it's only a hilly trail run.
Though I did not do Trog this year, I always find it harder than the 3 peaks, it may be that I am fitter by the time the ppp comes along, but doing the trog always makes me feel I will at least finish the ppp. God knows what will happen this year.
3hrs 42 for Three Peaks, 3hrs 47 for Wadsworth, but I found the Three Peaks much tougher. Interestingly I did 3hrs 40 for both Borrowdale and Tanky's Trog last year but found both of these much tougher than Wadsworth.
Maybe I just wasn't trying hard enough at Wadsworth.
I've done the 3 Peaks 4 times and the Wadsworth Trog twice. Assuming that you put equal effort into both races, I think the 3 Peaks is a much harder race because the climbs are tougher and its always warm (when I've done the 3 Peaks) resulting in dehydration and cramp (especially at the top of Whernside!)
I can't vote because I have'nt done TT but the trouble with the 3P is that its what a 3 mile climb up PyG followed by a drawn out generally downhill 9 miles at a fast pace, followed by a very steep climb up Whernside, another fast descent, a slow crawl up Ingleborough and at the top of that you've still got 5.5 miles to go (fast if you are able). It can actually feel easier when its muddy because it kind of forces you to slow down.
PPP defo - tough pace!
