    Long distance or mileage

    Hi all,

Having been injured for a couple of months I have lost my fitness. I am entered in the Hobble in 4 weeks and need to do my best to get fit. I am planning on doing a bit of everything, short fast intervals, long hill runs and cycling to work.

My question is this, which is more beneficial getting mileage in or getting a long run in.

eg should id do 50 miles a week for next 2 weeks or

should i do a 15 ish mile run this week a 20ish mile run next week then 25-30 2 weeks before (knowing my mileage will suffer due to lethargy)

    Cheers

    Dan

ps i was fit enough to do 32 miles (much rougher and almost twice the climb of the hobble) on 1st december so stamina should not be a problem for me

With a 32 miler in the bank I'd focus on mileage and hillwork
