.....from the face of the Earth today, who or what does the fra forum think would be the dominant species in 10,000 years time?

Assuming of course, the weather stayed the same, otherwise e.g. polar bears would have an advantage over giraffes if there were ice everywhere wouldn't they?

I fear for the future of sheep without us backing them up, I really do

Would any animals evolve to replace us i.e. would monkeys take over skyscrapers and work out how to use the lifts?

Would it just be a free for all or would some species clearly take over. I'd also be worried about cats and dogs without us on their side. Who'd open their tins?

My money would be on bears, lions and someone you wouldn't expect like rhinos to be ruling the school under these situations. What does the forum think?

Dunno about that Dom, but i bet you could guarantee that chickens would evolve to taste a hell of a lot worse than they do now - they've not been the luckiest birds have they... you could say that they would taste fowl.

The Duck billed platypus.

You never really see them and they arent a very glamorous creature...

They have many many quality's and apparently they have already mastered 'tools'.

I've been thinking about your Meerkats suggestion Merrylegs and i don't think they are tough enough. They'd have to settle their their inter-tribe pettiness and sort themselves into battalions to stand any chance against these monsters.
