    Hill reps - how often?

    Hi all,

Being a, well, lazy sod I have studiously avoided doing hills unless absolutedly necessary (normally in an event). This year though I thought I try and embrace the pain, and start doing some hill reps to see if they make a difference.

So the question is "How often a week do people find is good for hill reps?" Once a week? Twice a week? Should I up the number the closer to a race? Should I do it with a heavy rucksack? Carrying a rocking horse?........

Right now I'm on once a week and.. well.. it hurts.

    What do you think?

    Cheers,
    LS

Thumbs up Re: Hill reps - how often?

Stick at it LS & you will soon notice the difference. As part of my weekly long un & in prep for the 3 Peaks I've been doing hill reps - ascending & descending to the extent where these reps are 65 to 70% of the run. For some reason the 1st one is always the hardest.

Just find a suitable gear & keep moving - try not to look to smug etc when you see "joggers" ambling past ridge / trail running.
