2 Peaks from Horton in R

Am i right in thinking that you can cut short the 3 peaks route, after coming onto the road section turning left up a track/path across the railway line in front of the line of houses and up to ingleborough, thus avoiding going up whernside. i dont have a map with me but i think its park fell? dave

Correct, think this works out around 16/17 miles. You could also run on the road round to the Hill Inn and pick up the route there, this is about 19 miles.

You can also do Ribblehead - Whernside - Ingleborough and back to Ribblehead via Park Fell as well.

You can do that. Last year Derby Tup and I did a slight variation and carried on to Chapel-le-Dale after Whernside which takes you onto Ingleborough from a slightly different place. We carried on to the top of IB and then back down and off to Simon Fell / Park Fell. Made about 14 miles in total.

Done that. It's a nice run. After coming off the end of Whernside I finished off by going along the river past Beezley Falls (nice)though you could just as easily go along the other river past Thornton Force.

Doing two peaks from Horton is a fabulous route - I've done it in both directions PyG, Park fell, Ing and Ing, Park Fell and PyG.

Another good 2 peaker is Ingleton ----> Ingleborough ----> Whernside ----> Beezely Falls ----> Ingleton
