    Re: Coiners Junior races

Thanks for your kind words Duncan. I enjoyed putting it on with the incredible help of the CVFR crew. I think the sunshine this year made it. As Bill says there are photos from the day now available and more to follow at the Woodentops website soon no doubt.

    Coiners

CVFR rested Coiners last year after it had been a champs race for 3 years just to give the club a marshalling break. However its back this year with new and some may say improved routes as some ammendments needing making. Its a tougher start with more open moorland running and yes the bogmonster is still in the route. New routes are on CVFR website so if youre at a loose end on May day come and enjoy. Couple of clubs (that I know of) have the race in the champs series so should be fun if any other clubs have included it let me know so we can sort out a prize or two.

    Re: Coiners

Just confirmed that Coiners is very likely to be back in the FRA champs series again next year so this year would be a great opportunity to come and see what the new routes will hold. You will notice that this year or non championship years the 16 and 18 route is the same. For a champs year we will use a longer U18 route which will push on from this years route up to Stoodley and then drop down towards the reservoir before climbing back up and returning as per the U16 making it a few metres short of 10k. When this race isnt a champs race its just too big a commitment on marshalls to stand out there for 2/3 hours to assist possibly one or two runners, so anyone doing the U18 race next year wont get the full experience this year but will get the general feel.
Keep an eye on Calder website for info.

Great races at Coiners. Well organised and good courses. Good to hear that they may be included in the Fra champs again next year.

Cheers lefty much appreciated. Should work well for early season hard racing with Stretton Coiners and Cowpe all within 3 week period. Definitely worth peaking for.

Just discovered today that Mytholmroyd Community Centre will be open this B/H so there will be toilets a plenty and also showers for a small price should anyone run across the family of bog monsters currently residing on Erringden Moor.

My 8 yr daughter ran in the race this morning & I just wanted to say what a great race. Really well organised & especially doing the presentation so soon after the race finished.

Apart from a little cry at the top of the climb she really enjoyed it. I told her that runnig the long hills usually make me cry as well!
