    Tight hamstrings

Has anyone ever set about trying to lengthen their hamstrings due to too much running and not enough stretching? Any tips? Thanks.

my hamstrings only seem to be tight after a steep race
I ran and ran until my Muscles burned and my veins pumped battery acid, ....And then i ran some more.

Mine are a lot shorter than they used to be. I don't mean tight.

I can only touch my knees now. I used to be able to touch my toes.

    Re: Tight hamstrings

being flexible might help to a certain extent but I still get tight hamstrings and I can easily place my hands flat on the floor, with straight legs and put my feet ontop of my hands to further elongate the tendons

    Re: Tight hamstrings

cycling shortend my hamstrings gave probs with my piriformis too
intead of 50/50 40/60 bike runs on the fell tops I was spending it all in the saddle in moutain bike parks and local tracks.so when it came to stride out Iwas pulling them constantly
Stretch on your days off keeps the prirformis syndrome at bay too
