    Thanks for the text.
Rain forecast for next weekend and with hundreds of angry and super fit fell runners raring to go, should be a good turn out.

Hey Stagger thanks for offer of help but we are sorted now.
Hopefully the race will still be on, will have a better idea weds eve as going round route to see if all ok.
Parking this year will be very tight as the farmers field is not dry enough to use and from last report the cobbled lane we use is snowed up so parking will be get what you can on luddenden lane after the cricket field is full, which is around 1km away so please allow plenty of time with this in mind.

    Re: Midgley Moor

    Hi all

Shaun and I have been around some of the Midgley moor route tonight and unfortunately we have made the decision to cancel the race.
Due to drifts we have lost over half of the already limited parking.
The exit from the top field to the moor has vanished under drifts so not a good start and the mid section around jerusalem lane is in areas impassable and unsafe for racing.
Thanks to all who were giving their time to help us.
    Shaz n Shaun

There won't be a route map as its a point to point race Johnraho with route choices as optional.

They flag you to and from the moor then the rest is in your own hands

The check points are listed on CVFR
    http://www.cvfr.co.uk/races/midgley-moor/

You will need the OL21 South Pennines map

    Hope this helps

Here's the route map from 5 years ago so assume it's still current?

If you get the chance John it's worth having a reccy. I did this race a couple of years ago and was pleased to be in front of flying machine Helen F up at the summit. Then on entering the field at the finish I was greeted by Helen who had already finished after taking a far better line than me.

Yep MT, that's still current. Or this is an alternative of the same route:

FYI, it's clockwise round the lollipop. As Stagger says, once you've cleared the stile above Brownhill, you can choose your own route between the checkpoints. I've run along out the Calderdale Way several times and been all by myself before climbing back up to Crow Hill. The big choices are whether to cut the corner at Dimmin Dale, and the homeward line from Pasture wall corner back to the stile.

The race has both route choice and flagged sections. It's flagged up the fields to the moor at the stile by the quarry, this is the same on the run back down to the finish. It's then route choice from the stile to cp1, cp2 and cp3 at dimmindale. Then the route is flagged from 3-4-5( wall corner) from where it's take your chances getting back to the stile.
