Thanks to everyone who helped out, and everyone who raced. £400 was raised and will be going to Cancer Research UK.

Well done to winners Alex Whittem, who finally found his way round and Helen Fines who had no problems. A very big well done to Hannah and her RO team. Two sets of photos up on http://woodentops.org.uk/index.php?topic=home&subtopic=morephotos

Thanks to Graham Davy for taking on this mini-classic and making it possible for a record number of people to "get clarted up wi' mud".
Several clubs, including Tod Harriers, had made Midgley Moor a champs race, which kindly enabled me to have a very long breather at several stiles. I decided to make an even longer outing of it by coming back to the finish via the pretty way. But it's good to be back after 8 months off the fells with injury.
Coming away from a race with a packet of seeds and a pint of milk was a first.

Thanks for this and the pics, great as ever! Just glad you stopped the running commentary on the video before you got to me... "this guy clearly doesn't have long enough legs for all the heather bashing that is yet to come"!

Its a great race this. One of the feel-good things is the farmer, Mr Midgley, who owns the fields we start/finish in and runs the local dairy, bringing milk for everyone for after the race, and watching at the finish line as the runners come in.
If you come next year and see him, say a thank you! :-)
