Hello,

I am planning to go out to France and Switzerland to do a couple of races in summer but their race entry forms need race licence numbers.

What is a race licence and how do i acquire one?

That'd be the 'numéro de licence' for those who run for French/Swiss clubs and are therefore members of their athletics federations.

Just leave it blank, but this does mean (for France anyway, I don't know about Switzerland) you'll have to provide a medical certificate. Check out this thread for that.

For the continent you can get a letter from your GP (that's all he's good for -see other thread) stating that you're fit to run.

They also accept your EA membership card - perhaps that's all that EA's good for?

No I don't - there are plenty of people I like.

But I do see a lot of similarities between blazers and GPs - both groups who demand your respect as if it's their right, both groups who contribute very little in reality.

When I've done the Saint Pol - Morlaix previously, they have a little form for your GP to sign.

Given that they don't actually know what your GP's signatuire looks like, this isn't too difficult to arrange...
