No the bit at 5k was virtually flat - but unfortunately my calf went ping! Never pulled up lame in a race before that one!
Dom i'll think of you when i go through 5k, which the way i'm performing at the moment could take an eternity.
It's fair to say that my running at the moment is best described by a four letter word that rhymes with lap.
Thanks for the info though - i'm glad it was never hands on knees steep.

I'm doing this race too. Hope the previous calf-pinging isn't an omen - mine has been making what I can only describe as 'the squeak that precedes a ping' for the past week. As long as calves can be kept silent and persuaded not to form a string section, it should be a good run. It'll be interesting to do some lower level exploring in the Lakes for a change.
Is there a link anywhere to a map of the course? I know there's a photo slideshow which provides a rough guide, but I've tried to trace it on the Ordnance Survey and I'm not certain exactly which paths/tracks are used.
Enjoy it Danbert, I did last year and the BBQ and Beer tent were great.
Cheers Stagger i will.
All these injuries have changed my outlook to running.
Ten years ago i was a jogger running to get in shape to run the London Marathon for charity. As a consequence of which i rediscovered the racing bug and club running again and got a bit obsessed with chasing and trying to improve times. Now i just enjoy it.

Hope you have all set off. See you later.
