Good to hear you're good. Keep us up to date with races you're going to be at, it's good to see you around.

I'm good, running well, but I think I might be getting a bit grumpier.

Did you see the cake thread? I'm sure if you had a bit more time you would have been a prolific poster on that thread.
I've just decided I don't trust you anymore.

    Re: pendle

    Pendle for me any day.
    Rivington pike:
    - is too flat
    - has too much tarmac
    - has too much concrete
    - has too many grassy fields
    - is further away than my half mile journey to Pendle.

I'll be at Pendle for my 22nd time !

    See you there.

    Re: pendle

My 1st post on 'new style' forum and since injury. Pendle will hopefully be my 1st FR of the year and with any luck the 1st of many. Physio has given me strict instructions to follow to avoid calf injury so if that doesn't work then the Mud Rocs are going in the bin and I will concentrate 100% on the bike!
Good little race on a hill I love from a great village (with pub) and only a 15 minute drive from home. Hope to see you all there......

I've not run this race for 18 years due to having a mountain bike stuck to my arse. Iwill be running it this year though. Can you tell me if it takes the same route.
Is that lovely steep bracken bank still involved?

Probably. The only change I can recall in the last 20 years or so is the route to the finish from Buttock which is now the same as the outward route i.e. along the track by the side of the reservoir. It used to be across the fields the same as the tour and half tour.

    The fields would be better!
Only the Half Tour uses the fields. The Full Tour is down the track.

I stand corrected. I much prefer the finsh across the fields. I think I'm correct in saying that the longstanding record for this race (29:44 by Jack Maitland in 1984) was set when the finish was across the fields although the actual finish line was in the same place as it is now by the village hall.

    Re: pendle

Pendle for me without doubt - despite the fact that I've spent most of the winter training there on Tuesday nights!!
This race is my favourite route on Pendle - short, fast with not much flat running. Just a shame my preparation has been hampered by my first cold/chest infection for 2 yrs. Still - recuperation is still quicker than the injuries of the last 2/3 yrs.
    See you all there
