Hiya, folks, i am a serving crew member of Lytham St Annes lifeboat crew and have been for seven years. On april 4th i will be running the 26 mile brecon beacon black mountain roundabout for the RNLI. Some facts for you:
To kit a crew member out costs a total of £1,048, this includes gloves, helmet, jacket, trousers, boots and lifejacket
In 2007 there were 8,141 launches
306 lives saved
7,834 rescues
it costs approximatley £123.8M to run the RNLI each year (approx £339,000 per day).
All this depends on contributions and legacies from you the public with no goverment intervention/funding.
Would you be willing to contribute even if it is £1, The RNLI, myself and all the serving crews across UK and northern Ireland would be most grateful.
i have an official web site set up to receive contributions for the RNLI

Thanks you all for your support
