Hi, folks.
Glad to hear you all enjoyed yourselves today, even if the tussocks were a bit of a shock for those who haven't run it for a couple of years!
I'll hopefully be posting the results to The Fellrunner later on tomorrow sometime, so keep a look out.
For those who can't wait, the winner was Sean Carey (Todmorden) in 49.02 & first lady was Katie Walshaw (Holmfirth) in 54.11; men's team prize went to Pennine & ladies went to Holmfirth.
Hope to see you back next year.
Cheers,
Phil
Thankyou Lord Hobbs and may I say on behalf of myself, and fellow members of The Holmfirth Pork Pie Club, what a pleasure it was to be part of your first (well) organised bog-trot as Uber-Meister Generale.
Hail Caesar!
Afternoon folks - just to let you all know that the results should be on the Fellrunner website as we speak.
I have one apology to make - owing to an administrative error (ie. being unable to read the board properly with my contact lenses in!), the Mens team prize was incorrectly awarded to Pennine FR (Penistone FR looks very similar when you've not had much sleep!). So, apologies to Rossendale (Steve Clawson, Scott Hitchin & Michael Toman), who should have gone home with the case of John Smiths - I'm sure the lads at Pennine will raise a glass to you!
Thanks once again to all who turned out & those who helped - you know who you are! I look forward to seeing many of you back next year.
Phil
Holmfirth lady who twisted ankle on the path just after the tussocks, you ok?
Looking at the results I think you managed to make it to the finish.
Thanks to marshalls and RO for a great race with well organized weather.
Just want to thank everyone involved with the organising of what was a really good day out, nice route, great weather, lovely people and the best post race spread i've ever seen! see you next year.
Afternoon folks - just a reminder that this year's Ian Roberts race is being held on Sunday 11th March.
Registration & Race HQ at Marsden CC once again - registration opens at 9.30 & it's still only a bargain £4 to enter.
I can confirm the tussocks are still in evidence on Marsden Moor, so bring your best bounding shoes - ideal preparation for Lad's Leap the following weekend!
Post-race food & drinks courtesy of Holmfirth Harriers as always.
Hope to see plenty of you there - please note that now we've gone metric, the race is officially Medium, so the minimum age to enter is 18 on the day.
Here's the link to the Harriers website for details of course, maps etc.
