As I was watching Walking with Jim Moir on television tonight as he rambled around the Kent coast, I thought, crikey, he's the spit of Vic Reeves.

Turns out it was Vic Reeves.

    Well I never!

I grew up on the Kent coast so I thought I should watch this.

It gave me much comfort that I have never previously wasted a minute of my life watching anything involving Vic Reeves.

Should the mood ever take you, there's a rich back catalogue of Vic and Bob hitting each other with frying pans.

Thanks Noel but I have just noticed a wall that needs painting.

Just watched this evenings Mastermind. Either I am getting brighter in my old age or they are dumbing down.

I suspect the latter is true.

You should see how easy they make it for the celebrity episodes, we're basically a thickening society, Mike Judge saw it coming ages ago.

I turned on the TV to look for something to watch while cooking dinner this evening, and on BBC4 I found a documentary made in the 1970's of a tour round the coast of Scotland. It included some good video of the 1976 Ben Nevis race, although the commentary inevitably included several factual errors (the race had been run every year since 1895, and had always included runners of both sexes; but at least Joan Glass did get a mention).
In his lifetime he suffered from unreality, as do so many Englishmen.
