Someone remind me, what's an advert?
Independent: Anthony Horowitz says ad breaks are killing TV drama

And here's an American link 31 TV shows to watch in 2014 (warning: even slower than Tonight's Music as it loads 31 Youtube links).
It's especially amusing thanks to regular updates on how good (or bad) shows turned out to be!

I saw Rory McCann aka The Hound on Tib St in manchester this afternoon. I was going to ask him for a picture and autograph but he came across a little grumpy.

Well that's another 9 months or so to wait for the next season of GOT.
Very good season finale. George RR Martin does like to "borrow" from
other films/fantasy stories and one scene tonight resembled a homage
    to the late Ray Harryhausen.

Finally got round to watching the first series of 'Fargo'. It had a single connection to the 1996 film but basically the same sort of characters and accents. Very strong cast and Martin Freeman even managed to get a part in it. FX do some great series and with the Coen brothers on board as executive producers this is going to be another one Each series will be set in a different time period so all new cast for the next one which should attract some more strong actors in after the success of this series.

Gotham - New TV series with the story about a young commissioner Gordon joining a corrupt police service with the whole Batman thing starting up at the same time. We have seen a youngish Penguin and even younger Poison Ivy and Catwoman in the first episode. The young Bruce Wayne's butler is played by Dr Who's lad Sean Pertwee with East End relish rather than BBC standard English.
I might stick around a few episodes and see how it goes.
