I'm def going to try these out as soon as I've got spare cash (lets face it they are a tad pricey) I'm wondering if it would not be out of the realms of possibility for a walsh style re-sole? We may then have the ultimate fell shoe on our hands (or feet)

    Try ebay or TK Maxx.

As for the Walsh sole, think you might be dealing with pressure points hurting your feet.

Not too worried about it really, more of an idea, but I would love to give them a go for trail running as I am trying to do one barefoot seesion a week, tarmac is fine as is grass, but sharp stoney trails are taking a bit of getting used to! I think you are probably right about the pressure points though.

I like the idea of these but the UK prices are ridiculous - interesting to note that in the States they are only 75 to 90 DOLLARS rather than ££££s

My wife just came in, took one look at a photo of the Fivefingers, announced flatly "You're not getting any of those", and left the room.
So I'm not getting any of those.

Just seen this on a review website:
I tried on a pair yesterday! Size 41 KSO’s in black! I LOVED them! I texted my wife and she said “gross” and “don’t even think about it”. To keep the peace I decided to go home and talk to her about it, and quite frankly, i don’t care, I’m getting them.
Good luck, Stephen in California. I hope you'll enjoy being single again.

They'd be a bit of a conversation starter at the start of races wouldn't they?
I've actually been after a pair of the KSO's ever since Matt Fitzgerald mentioned it in his book brain training for runners. Was thinking of running Snowdon in them but having read this review:

I'm not sure the soles would survive the descent of cloggy. What does everyone else think?

Barefoot is a better conversation starter in my opinion. Anyway I am interested to know what you read in my review at redrocksbluesky that would cause you to feel like the soles would fail in your fabulous terrain.

Regards, and hope to fly across the pond and run a few fell events.
