Things are getting better because i've learned how to shunt all my sh*t to the back of my mind, it's still there but partially blocked out which is a lot better. If beeb can learn to do this too with the use of distractions things will get better fast.

    You still there Beeb?

Mr B...crack on and good luck; please remember you are not alone.

I had an appalling year until April this year...sh**ty divorce, birth of our daughter AFTER the divorce...all very difficult head wise.

When a friend who is a girl (hi Helly!!) gave me the encouragement/kick up the arse to get out there, I strapped on the shoes and hit the trail and the boost that physical exertion gave me was incredible...healthy mind in healthy bod an' all that...and when another pal said "let's run across Exmoor" well, that was music to my ears and gave me a personal challenge and something to aim for; I was so proud of our achievement and my own motivation when we cracked the 26+ miles and am now going for my first fell race.

With the new found confidence in my own abilities and feeling so fantastic in my own skin, I found that people around were getting the fringe benefits: I now have a truly amazing girlfriend (hi Lindsay!) and things are so so much better than five or six months ago.

The Black Dog HATES laughter, sunshine, feeling fit...so laugh, stay shiny and keep running!

    All the best

Seems to me like everyone goes through a bad time at some point/points, admitting to yourself you've got one and your not invincible and talking it through with others who've been through and come out the other end helps.
Everyone's only human, and we all need to lean on someone sometimes, plenty of folk on here that will help and advise if required.
    Keep smiling everyone

Hey Beeb hope you did well with the PhD...

Hope you are doing good, glad you have been enjoying your runs, the weather is nice today, are you running today?
