    Training for Duddon

Mine's been interrupted the last two weeks by a bad knee. So I've not done the long endurance run I had planned - a hilly 25 miler - to get some miles under the belt and confidence over the distance. Nor the speed sessions.

Knee's only just getting right, going to take it out for a jog now and see.

Question is, would it be sensible to still do that big run next Saturday, or to just settle for a couple of speed sessions or hill reps maybe?

Just a bit worried I might not be up to Long Duddon ...

How's your knee Zed? Think if it was me (assuming your knee's okay) I'd be minded to try about 10ml steady at the weekend then rest up and assuming there are no cut-offs, have a go

Mine's been interrupted by a calf strain at Fairfield - but I'll be there even if I have to limp round with a walking stick for company!

I'll not be running anywhere this week - that's for sure.

DT: knee is so-so. Managed an hour of jogging and press-ups / sit-ups this morning with no terrible consequences but it still twinges going upstairs. Doesn't fell like it'll stand up to any sort of ascent.

There are cut-offs at Duddon. If my knee's OK I don't think I'll miss them, but it might take me a while to get in from the last one...

Cut-offs at Duddon aren't that tight, just have a go mate and see how you do, its how you feel on the day that matters, best of luck

I did my ankle in two weeks ago. Haven't run since. It it doesn't hurt I'll be doing Duddon even though I'll be a little out of practice. Has to be done just to taste the beer at the end.
