LAMM score - laminated maps?

I have entered the LAMM score and ordered a laminated map.
The checkpoints are not pre printed, so will have to be marked up onto the map.
Any tips on the best way to mark them on that wont rub off?

Have had problems with this before on adventure races when the 'permanent' marker isnt permanent so you 'lose' checkpoints.

This made me think: if you have to drop out of this race, have you been LAMMinated?

Biro is good. Some work better than others so take a couple and chuck them away.

I use permanent markers with a fine tip, red for day one, black fo day 2. They don't work in the rain so I take a kids wax crayon too.

just a tip for other MM, if you are having the laminated maps, take some wet,dry paper to lightly go over the map, helps provide more of a key for the fine tipped markers
