Anybody recommend a mountain bike with full suspension minimum for around £150-£200. Any other features would be nice

Not really asking for much then are you!

To be honest, any full suss new for this money will be a toy (in fact a new hard tail for this money wouldn't be much better). The forks, shock, brakes, gears, wheels will not be up to any serious punishment. My advice would be to either save up your pennies and wait, or go second hand.

You really need to be spending ~£500 on a new hard-tail to be getting something that will do serious riding and ~£1k for a proper full-suss.

Are you able to use the bike to work scheme as this could potentially boost your budget.

So, if you had £500 - 1000 spare and wanted a mountain bike that would take some hammer - what's a good buy? Nothing fancy, but reasonably light. Something that will not have to most bits replaced as they get destroyed as you use it in nasty rocky places/go down bumpy hills fast/ don't always manage to stop in time, etc.? Any pointers?

No, if you are not working you cannot use the bike to work scheme (got to be paying some tax to get some tax relief; well not so actually, but the principle is reasonably sound!).

So why does it need to be full suss? Does it need to be a MTB at all? The trouble with cheap MTB bikes is that the forks etc are simply not worth having.

    Re: Bikes

To be honest i really am out of my depth with anything but bmx. I want to ride lake district and snowdonia stuff. Trails, not really any proper off the beaten track stuff. So any recommendations

Like marketing (price, quality, speed); you can only have two out of Toughness, weight and price. Of the research I've done on this in the past you are definately looking at hard tail rather than full suss and the obvious contenders are something like a Specialised Rockhopper Disc or Rocklobster both £500-£800.
