Yes sir!
There were 55 runners tonight, so no chance of a third place for me. It's a good race this one - thanks to Des and the marshalls. Were last year's results published anywhere? I'd like to compare times.
Hoping to post this eve's & last years here (if Uncle Steve permits) http://www.cs.man.ac.uk/~temples/hc/
At the sharper end this eve....
(rather raw results... 54 finishers on the list I've got?)
1. Tom Brunt - Holmfirth - 33.59
2. Kieran Hodgson - ? - 34.10
3. Richard Patton - DPFR - 34.32
4. Julian Rank (V40) - Holmfirth - 35.05
1. Natalie White (yep really!) - Bingley - 36.41
2. Helen Berry - Holmfirth - 39.29
3. Rachael Lawrence - Macc' Harriers - 42.23
4. Katherine Harvey (FV40) - Pennine - 42.37
(V’V' Nice V’ symmetry!!)
Watch the space above for the rest of the V's (hopefully)!
Excepting 1st V70.... Malcolm Schofield!
Well done Des & Gang, lots of prizes & even more smiling faces
Low Key & High Enjoyment!
Miss Muddy Paws Dad....
Not clever & often stupid..
Well, at the end of the race I came out with every cliche under the sun (oops, there's another one) - running through treacle, going backwards on the climbs etc., but at the end of the day (and again!) it's just great to have an evening out on the fells. Highlight for me was having a high-5 from my number one fan (Emma) as I crossed the line!
Thanks as always to Des & all his helpers. (If Des ever gave up race organising the calendar would be half the size!!)
I used to trot out cliches like there was no tomorrow too, Geoff but now I avoid them like the plague.. Well done after Ennerdale, and thanks to the Pennine Support Crew at the Trog!
Agreed, thought this was a good little race over familiar terrain. Only downside is the road start and finish, which is hard on the knees and somewhat dangerous. For me, Shelf Moor Fell Race in September is a much superior fell race with a tougher climb, exhilarating descent and no tarmac whatsoever.
It was a nice race - its was a shame that the weather wasn't hot and sunny like it has been for the last few weeks.
It was a mad rush from sunny Grasmere to Glossop in the pouring rain, but made it just in time.......
Thanks to Des for putting on a great race, someone bring the sun for next year?!
Good little run out that, never been up the "backside of Bleaklow" (ahem!) before so there's new bit of the peak to explore...
Not a bad turnout considering the conditions and despite a mediocre personal performance. I think "running through treacle" (ta GeoffB) sums it up nicely!
I guess that with 55 runners, result compilation must be tricky then! Only nagging because I have promised Swoop a race report for Altricham Athletics Club.
