    Have a look at the Equipment section of the forum and there's loads of discussion re what the best shoes are / were, including polls where forumites have voted for their faves. Then buy some Inov8s

    I've only ever had Inov8s. Got some HH trailcutters too.

    the inov-8 mudclaw 270,330s and the x-talon cannot be beaten for the grip on the fells

    La Sportiva Crosslites. Im saving mine for snowdon and big races but i can thoroughly recommend them

    Good man. Fell shoes are an affectation, some might venture. I keep hearing how shoes are being based on the human foot; so what better than the actual human foot? Cheaper too, and eco-friendly.

    I recall seeing a bare-footed African runner at the World Cross Country Champs in Durham a few years ago. Must have been January. Mind you, another chap was wearing a 70s-style bukta football strip, and some gola football trainers. He was in the middle of the field, too.

    Anyway, shoe debate isn't my thing and it's time for my injections.

    Does anyone else remember Bukta?
