had a couple of bad falls at jura and scared myself a bit.
thought over it.
had a recce over part of wasdale today,
lost my nerve descending,thought i was going to go head over heels and the height un-nerved me.
is this just a phase?
i used to think i was indestructable,
now lost my confidence.
whats the best way to regain it?
any advice appreciated,thanks
I twisted an ankle last year and now despite being quicker on the ups and flat my race times are much slower. It is just about regaining the confidence by going a while without tripping, falling or twisting. Its coming back finally and this is a year after it happened. So hang in there and eventually it just sorts itself out.
Trying to plod up hills every day slightly faster than the day before
I wouldn't get too bothered about falling at Jura, that's normal, the last pap I actually get quite scared everytime I hit those boulders and lose all balance, end up scrabbling around like a cat on ice.
After breaking my arm last year I took a while to get back to descending how I know I can, so I used short local races to get back to attacking descents and it seems to have remained, but worried as I'm racing a bit less this year so may have lost a bit again.
starting to get something back together now
the descents off tebay helped with them being long and runable
doing a few local races is helping too
guess its just time,think may give wasdale a miss for now but do langdale
