Perfect weather for a Reservoir Bogs race on Saturday, heavy clag. Probably just as well it was a relatively straightforward route this year or there could have been lost runners strewn all over the moor! Not bad conditions for the other races too - dry and fast on Friday, cool but rain held off today. James Logue and Gayle Sugden once again stormed away with the wins.
Now chilling with a glass of something.

    A well-deserved glass, Bill.

Thanks for your sterling efforts, as usual.

It looks as if there's going to be a big Midsummer Madness shaped hole in my annual calendar of events and I really hope it'll be possible to keep the races going in some form and at some point in the year.

In a somewhat nerdy exercise to establish the size of the Madness-shaped hole to which I referred in the post above, I've just looked back at my records.
While I can't begin to compare with Keith Markley's magisterial record of having completed every single race in the 14 year history of the series, I've done at least one race in each of the last twelve, with 8 complete sets and 11 Reservoir Bogs. I think that over that period I've marshalled for every Midsummer Madness race I haven't run. So it's fair to say I'll miss it!

A potential bit of Fishwickery eluded me this weekend. I tried to slip in a crafty Parkrun on Saturday morning, just before Reservoir Bogs, and turned up Shroggs Park in my shorts only to discover that the event had been cancelled due to preparations for a community festival.
