    I have 4 anoraks

    Officially a geek?
What more evidence is needed !

We even have a section within our forum devoted to the suitability of anoraks. As soon as anyone posts anything asking for advice on the best type to have there are a multitude of postings, each giving line and verse about their particular favourites best attributes. Taped seams, storm flaps, wired hoods, Event, Goretex, Paclite, Featherlite, Pertex !! In fact to prove a point look on the equipment thread and see the number of postings to the 'Anorak' Post !

I think it is about time we as a community stand up and be proud of our geekiness !

I AM A FELL RUNNING GEEK AND PROUD OF IT !!

This is great - now I know I am not alone

My spreadsheets of races run, miles trained and mountains climbed can come out of the closet!

Well that's exactly what I said!
He thought differently, so I dumped him, and now I can read maps ALL NIGHT LONG if I want to

Juicer, I too seem to use any spare bits of cash or save up to buy stuff technical type clothing, then moan when I haven't got any 'going out' clothes I haven't got 4 anoraks yet but that is purely because I am still doing in depth research on what to buy next

OHW - you really need to adopt the "Juicer Method" to "going out clothing"...........

    Wear your technical gear!!!

And as for the "dumping"....a correct decision!

Yep, OHW - good decision on the fella!!

I'm a bit worried about the anoraks thread Denzil has started. It's bound to result in me wanting more anoraks!

Here's a new trick for you. Whilst in bed, with your map, try and form the duvet into the shape of the hills you are looking at ! That way you can get a 3 D picture of the terrain !! Ooops, have I said too much now !

No prizes for guessing that AllanT says he makes Mount Fuji under his duvet every night !!!

Doh!! And there's me going and buying one of those "digital mapping" things when there was FAR more fun to be had by taking a DIY approach!
