    Actually, there was one interesting question to come out of the show tonight...

    Based on the fact that it took them something like 26 hours to get the top....and the fact that the sun wasvery low in the sky when they were sitting on top of the Pike....how did they get down?

    Headtorches?

    Camped up there?

    Helicopter?

    they booked a helipcopter to take all the kit then ran down in the back draft of the blades! (with headtorches) to wasdale and had a pint in the wasdale head! of course!

    I am unaccountably reminded of when I was a Young Thing working at the Wsadale Head, and the assembled (small) multitude of drunken bar and kitchen staff decided to walk up Gable pissed at three o'clock in the morning sans headtorches.

    We only got as far as the Styhead stretcher box, and I vaguely recall spending 10 minutes trying to light the wrong end of a fag someone had given me (not normally having to worry about that sort of thng with roll-ups).

    I think we may have taken a chocolate fudge cake and some Theakstons with us. Or was that another night? Or another one....
