not too tough a question really, we should have it finished by the evening and we can move on to-
Is there life out side our solar system and
Is there an end to the universe and if so whats on the other side
The Universe IS everything, so there can't be anything on the other side of it.

Is there an end to the universe? Of course because the universe is finite. If it wasn't it would be undefinable, and we couldn't then call it the universe.

Just asked God so I know.

Isn't it true that the point is we CAN'T define the universe - we don't know if it is finite or infinite and we don't know if there is one or many?

No - just my opinion though, I respect the views of others who think there is a God (like members of my family).

But we have. The universe is the sum of everything that exists. So it's contradictory to say there can be more than one universe. If it was infinite it would have no identity and couldn't be defined.

    Anyway I've gotta go.

    Re: Does God exist?

Oh how exciting.... this brings all sorts of happy memories back of Finals.

For me, for something to exist is has to be proven to exist. Also, not being able to disprove something does not prove it's existence. This is a classic weak argument of many believers, eg "science cannot disprove the existence of god so therefore god exists"... I could start my own religion worshipping an almighty celestial hamster and could put forward the very same argument for its existence with equal validity ie. not much.

A lot of Richard Dawkin's work is excellent but I don't think the God Delusion is his strongest. He comes across in it as being too zealous rather than relying on hard science and sound philosophical argument. I prefer Selfish Gene, Blind Watchmaker and, more recently, The Ancestors Tale.

Excellent read is Bertrand Russell's Why I'm not a Christian.

    Let the fun begin!
