I haven't done this race before and will need to put in plenty of training between now and then.

yes likewise. Well the recce could be done at pace....
Have walked those fells quite a bit, but would like to know it better so on race day I'm not mincing around on the tops with me map.
The same goes for me too. I have actually recced the section from Stonethwaite to Scafell Pike a few years ago, but got injured in the interim and couldn't do the race. Also I was alone and it wasn't the clearest of days so wasn't sure if I found the best/quickest line.

My circumstances have changed slightly and it's going to have to be the 11th for me. Does anyone else have a preference?

Just to keep this alive, I'm still up for the 11th, although I'll wait (hopefully not much longer) for entry confirmation before booking trains.
