Anyone done this one? It looks reasonably painful.
I'm not sure how it crosses back over to Wharfedale from P-Y-G.

There's a route description here:
http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/yorkshire..._stride_24.htm
I was going to be doing it until I found out I was on holiday.
I have walked it and it is a tough walk. It used to have 25 and a 33 mile choices but just the 25 now.
2005 there were around 80 entries and last year only 38 or so. That was because of a competing event and it was England's first world cup match. Some photographs and the results from 2006 can be seen at http://www.hcresources.co.uk/ulfkil06.html
PS Chris, myself and my wife will be manning (ladying) the Halton Gill checkpoint after about 8 miles. Juice and biscuits and a chat available. We have done that checkpoint for the last 2 years. Make yourself known.

I have run done both routes. The 25 miler has some nice climbs. Not a classic - but worth doing once, but there are better things around.
Hi Tussock
I did this many years ago when I had less wrinkles, I really enjoyed it and found it mostly runnable.
I would love to do it again, I moved south and have basically run mainly in the peak since. Did the Trollers a few weeks a go and forgot how beautiful an area it is.
Ian
Did it a few years ago on a hot day and the last climb from Litton back to Buckden was a killer - but enjoyable non the less
Thanks for the advice and warnings everyone. I've entered already and it would be good to see some forumites. I'll try to raise a smile for Johnnybike and his team at Halton Gill. I ought still to be able to manage it at that relatively early point.
