    Re: Races around Chamonix

    FITC, I'm off to France again during the summer holidays & this time I'm determined to get a race or two in.

    I'm able to get into the race below with my dodgy med certificate & enter on the day;

    http://www.lebipede.com/exe_cal/main...cafi=&end=true

    Can you tell me if I can do the same with the race below or do I have to pre-enter?

    http://www.jogclubsthilaire.com/semi...reglement.html

    Cheers.
    I've just decided I don't trust you anymore.

    Cheers.
    You can enter on the day. From 7 o'clock (according to that page on the website) or from 7.30 (according to the entry form itself). Entries finish half an hour before the race starts. When you get there, just look for the signs saying 'inscriptions (sur place)' and give them a quick flash of the dodgy certificate.

    Oh and the rules for what it says on the medical certificate have changed this year, so instead of being 'sports in a competition', it's now 'running in a competition'. This is to stop golfers and pétanque players from getting up one morning, deciding they could run le marathon des sables and being accepted. Here's the new version :

    CERTIFICAT DE NON CONTRE - INDICATION A LA PRATIQUE DE LA COURSE A PIED EN COMPETITION
    (MEDICAL CERTIFICATE PROVING APTITUDE TO THE PRACTICE OF RUNNING IN A COMPETITION)

    Je soussigné(e):
    (I the undersigned,)

    Docteur en médicine

    Mlle/Mme ou M.:

    Né(e) le:
    (Born on

    certifie que son état de santé actuel ne présente pas de contre-indication à la pratique de la course à pied en compétition).
    (and certify that he/she demonstrates a level of fitness that does not prevent the practice of running in competitions.)

    There's this on- and off-road 10k too, with the added attraction of kids races, fireworks and barbecue.

    I think this the best thread to hijack.

    Any info on races or general running in the Chambery / Aix Les Bains area ?
    Hoping for a far more successful 2009

    There's a calendar of mainly offroad races here.

    Where it says 'Toutes les régions' you scroll down to and click on "Rhône-Alpes". Then look for 'Savoie' in the Dép (département) column.

    What time of year are you going to be there?

    Thanks.

    Not sure, just looking at options. Chambery is an easy destination from Norwich as I can fly there direct. But I'd say June - August is most likely.
