    Pen y Fan results

Results can be found at http://www.breconfans.org.uk/PenYFan...tsArchive.aspx
You'll need to filter for 2009.
A good race with a very close finish between Simon "cover girl" Coldrick, who was way ahead at the summit, and Will Horsley who had a storming descent and nearly nicked it. Conditions were slow due to the wet ground, but the tops were clear.
Helen "Longdogs" Fines ran the second fastest descent of the day (faster than Simon!) to win the ladies race, and knocked nearly 3 minutes off her PB. Still 2.5 mins off that record though
MDC got team prize, ahead of Springfield Striders and Cambridge Harriers (well known FR clubs). Mynydd Du sadly depleted with no team, but I've just heard that Martin Shaw ran 1:14:31 at Snowdon, good lad.
Photos will go onto the web site soon.
Fan y Big tomorrow - shall I run? - is it wise to run a 10 mile fell race when you've only been for two runs in the past 6 months due to busted knee ...? Hey what the heck

I've not written it up yet! But yes I've got his email, ta.
If you're going to get that record it's obviously the ascent you need to work on, as your descent is already mental! I've got a couple of v scary photos of you

Lovely race weekend. Excellent organisation and prises (esp the first days - big thanks to the Brewery, the Bakery!?!)

Shame about the directional issues in the clagg on sunday Longdogs - you didn't look too slow up that first hill!

    thanks Mountain Bag - appreciated.
To anyone who did both races... Dave and I are thinking about swapping the races around in future - Fan Y Big on saturday, Pen y Fan sunday 11am. This would allow people to get away earlier if they have travelled far.
Which is better - doing a medium the day after a short steep one, or vice versa
    Any thoughts?
